about

Not Until Four is the sophomore album from Upstate New York-based trio SAUCER: Jim Crawley, Jim Temple, and Evan Crawley.

Jim Crawley and Jim Temple are formerly of Albany-based Private Plain and Blue Factory, and have been writing and recording together for decades.

In 2018, they brought along Crawley’s son Evan to join them for a new project. Evan developed a love of rock music from a young age, following in his father and his uncle’s footsteps.

Saucer's first album, Outside, began to take shape pre-pandemic, and was finally completed and released on Friday, March 4, 2022. A few live shows preceded the release and showed what the band had to offer: loud, fun, driving, guitar-oriented rock.

After the release of Outside, Saucer had already set up a recording studio in bass player Jim's house, and had begun recording material for a new release. With songs about life and loss, Not Until Four came from many nights of writing and recording in the band's new rehearsal/recording space. It was recorded at the band's own pace, with the guys usually completing a song in a couple weeks at a time on free weeknights. The album was engineered and mixed by drummer/guitarist/vocalist Evan Crawley, and mastered by Mike Hickey at Brunswick Recording.

Not Until Four will be released on Saturday, November 11, 2023. Follow @saucerbandny.
