about

Outside is the debut album from Upstate New York-based trio SAUCER: Jim Crawley, Jim Temple, and Evan Crawley.

Jim Crawley and Jim Temple are formerly of Albany-based Private Plain and Blue Factory, and have been writing and recording together for decades.

In 2018, they brought along Crawley’s son Evan to join them for a new project. Evan developed a love of rock music from a young age, following in his father and his uncle’s footsteps.

Beginning in March 2019, the band had amassed a collection of songs they deemed worthy of being on an album, and the recording process began. With the help of longtime friends and musicians Dave Rinaldi, Barry Breckenridge, and Brian Masella, Saucer recorded at Rinaldi’s home studio in Chatham, NY, in a handful of sessions over the course of the next two years.

Once recorded, after some pandemic-related delay, the band again recruited friend Brian Masella in the mixing process, and worked together with Masella at Brunswick Recording in Brunswick, NY to craft the mix. The album was mastered by Mike Hickey at Brunswick Recording in late 2021.

Outside is a 12-song flowing journey of an album with driving rhythms, soaring melodies, lush and vibrant guitars, and melodic bass. Each song was written collaboratively, with the exception of “Beggin’” and “Rest,” both written by Evan Crawley during his high school and college years, respectively.

Outside will be released on Friday, March 4, 2022 on all streaming services. Follow @saucerbandny on Instagram, Twitter, and Facebook for updates and info.
